El Dorado Catahoulas is located in the Gold Country of California's Sacramento Valley.
We are an NALC Certified Breeder.
We enjoy competing in conformation and baying events.
We have recently begun competing in cowdog trials and have a lot of fun with that. It is amazing the things these dog will do instinctively.
We test all of our dogs for soundness using PennHIP testing and OFA certification for hips, BAER testing for hearing, CERF testing for eye abnormalities.
We test their instincts through wild hog baying, cowdog trials,'Coon treeing and ring sport.
We strongly support this testing and will not breed with Catahoulas that have not undergone like testing.
Cash rebates are given for hip certifications and NALC championships obtained by dogs from our kennel.
Our desire is for physically and mentally sound dogs.
If action is not taken, the Catahoula will become just another dog ruined through overbreeding.
That would be a shame.
Joaquin and Shania were bred in May, 2010, and the puppies arrived on July 2, 2010. Check the puppy page for more information.
Hebert and Rowdy will be used in some upcoming outside breedings which can be seen on the puppy page.
Older and started dogs may also be available.
Our friends at Tasso had a litter of ten puppies in July, 2010. Woody is the sire.
